VegTrug Limited have signed a landmark agreement with Takasho Co. Ltd (JASDAQ 7590) for the sale and distribution of the Takasho garden products range in the United Kingdom.

Takasho manufacture some 2,500 garden products and VegTrug will be introducing a limited range to the UK in the first year. Cooperation between the businesses will start at GLEE in September 2011 with a joint exhibition plan under way (Stand 5A30 September 19th to 21st, Hall 5, NEC Birmingham).

The agreement was signed in Las Vegas at the National Hardware Show with Mr Toshimi Mori representing Takasho at the meeting which was the culmination of several months of final negotiations between the two companies. Mr Takaoka, President and CEO of Takasho Co. Ltd had met with the VegTrug Directors in December at the Takasho Headquarters in Wakayama, Japan after they had visited the Takasho production facilities in China.

Mr Takaoka said, “VegTrug Limited have an excellent product and are an ambitious young business. We have watched Paul and Joe establish and grow the business over the last 18 months with great interest. We are sure that with the backing of Takasho and our product range we will forge a very successful partnership in the coming years.”

The agreement represents the first steps between VegTrug and Takasho cooperating both in the UK and Asian markets. Further announcements will be made in due course.
