The Federation of Garden and Leisure Manufacturers
issued to following Press Release last week regarding VegTrug Limited. The story has been published on diyretailer.co.uk and on gardenforum.co.uk so far:

A British gardening product company that was founded only a year ago has made remarkable inroads into export garden markets with recent contracts awarded from Australia, Denmark, Germany and North America; the company is also confident of winning significant business with a Japanese customer in 2011. VegTrug, manufacturer of raised bed vegetable growing systems that enable vegetables to be grown in the smallest of spaces, has cited attending overseas trade exhibitions via Gardenex such as the National Hardware Show, Las Vegas, and spoga+gafa, Cologne, as a major factor leading to the company’s rapid sales growth in overseas markets.

Joe Denham, international director for VegTrug Limited commented; "We always had big ambitions for our product and knew that it had the potential to be sold around the world. One of the best decisions we made in the early days was to contact the Gardenex Federation for assistance, and their help and guidance with overseas trade shows has been excellent and very good value for money. More than that however, is the experience of the Federation’s team when advising us with specific overseas customer prospects. On occasions we have needed to structure proposals and negotiations in areas in which we were not familiar but the Gardenex team have always been on hand to guide us. The Federation’s knowledge of the markets and network of contacts is just superb and we would recommend its services to any business wanting to expand overseas."

VegTrug’s latest contract is with The Danske Supermarked Group in Denmark and came as a direct result of VegTrug’s participation in the Gardenex-organised group at this year’s spoga+gafa. Danske Supermarked is the largest and one of the fastest growing retail groups in Denmark, comprising seven retail chains and two magazines. The Group currently employs some 43,000 people with more than 1,300 stores in five countries. The VegTrug product will be available in the Danish company’s Bilka and AZ hypermarkets, which will have a significant impact on VegTrug’s international distribution.

Confirmation has also been received following an enquiry taken at spoga+gafa that the small version of the VegTrug system will be listed in the Beckmann catalogue published in Germany from the beginning of 2011. Beckmann is a specialist mail order company offering garden buildings, structures and accessories.

Two significant contracts have also been won as a result of VegTrug’s participation in the Gardenex-organised group at this year’s National Hardware Show in the USA. The first of these is the signing of a regional distribution agreement with DLS Lawn & Garden that will result in the VegTrug raised bed system being available in the states of Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin. The second sees VegTrug extending its distribution into Australasia via selected Bunnings Hardware stores throughout Australia and New Zealand. Bunnings has 182 Bunnings warehouse stores and 59 smaller stores across the two countries.

The Federation of Garden and Leisure Manufacturers Ltd is the trade association that works on behalf of British garden, leisure and pet product companies to help its members increase sales worldwide.
